Additional research conducted in November 2022 provides insight into the best ways to counter disinformation and rebuild election trust.
In September 2022, Citizen Data compiled valuable insights to effectively counter disinformation and build voter confidence in our Playbook for Trusted Elections.
Drawing on a vast body of research, the Playbook equips election officials and civil society organizations with data-driven communications guidance.
Throughout October and November 2022, we ran additional trials in Arizona and Georgia to take a deeper look at effective anti-disinformation message content and framing.
The findings from this second round of research makes up a new “Mitigating Misinformation Part 2” section of the playbook.

How To Combat Election Disinformation

In November 2022, we conducted follow-up experiments that tested before and after the midterms to examine whether any effects lasted through and beyond the elections.
