Director of Growth
Position Overview

Citizen seeks an experienced, strategic, and highly motivated Director of Growth to develop a robust and comprehensive growth capability for Citizen, overseeing and leading the company’s business development and account management functions. This role is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and deepening Citizen partner relationships from a sales and revenue perspective, as well as supporting Citizen’s leadership team in defining and executing upon a clear vision for Citizen’s overall growth strategy and quickly-expanding business portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading growth and/or business development efforts, as well as hands-on experience in account management and sales. Preferably, this candidate will come with demonstrated experience managing teams and a passion for developing talent and building capabilities. This candidate must also come with background knowledge of the unique Citizen marketspace: the social impact sector, including non-profits, government, policy, and public affairs, and a combination of tech, digital, data, and non-partisan issue advocacy. Interest in engaging in civil discourse, bridging divides, ending hyper-polarization, and working across difference toward a healthy democracy are pluses.

Role Objectives

  • Work with Citizen leadership team to set and execute a clear growth strategy for Citizen, creating CMAs, establishing a diverse and robust portfolio, and setting clear metrics to evaluate success including tracking outreach, leads, opportunities and revenue
  • Lead and oversee Citizen business development and account management functions, introducing and implementing the right tools, processes, systems, and procedures to generate, cultivate, and maintain relationships with partners and securing sales by helping partners understand how Citizen can support them
  • Manage teams in the future, developing direct reports and coaching them to success
  • Assist in defining and adjusting price points for Citizen products and services by working with Citizen’s Chief Operating Officer and Partner Success function to track and analyze project P&Ls and competitor pricing
  • Support Citizen marketing efforts, working hand-in-hand with the Citizen leadership team
  • Serve as a leader in supporting Citizen leadership broadly with high-level company strategy
  • Represent Citizen to partners, stakeholders, and investors, as well as at conferences, events, and other forward-facing activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7 years’ minimum leadership experience across growth, business development, account management, or sales, preferably in industries related to Citizen’s work, including social impact, tech, digital, data, and/or advocacy
  • Experience managing and developing teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive growth strategies and market analyses
  • Organized, data-driven, metrics-focused and goal-oriented work style
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain lasting and growing relationships

Operations Coordinator
Position Overview

Citizen seeks a motivated, organized, and entrepreneurial Operations Coordinator to support Citizen’s operations capability and leadership team with key office management functions including scheduling, team purchases, invoicing, and reporting. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking and business leadership acumen, as core responsibilities include operations budget support as well as the development of templates, processes, and systems which help our team operate more efficiently. 

The Operations Coordinator will be a detail-oriented and responsive team player who enjoys collaborating and is hungry to learn and grow. Our goal is to foster professional development of this position internally, supporting this individual by providing opportunities to expand his or her skillset and responsibilities in short order. Role Objectives

  • Schedule meeting, calls, and events on behalf of Citizen and Citizen leadership team, interfacing externally with key Citizen partners, board members, investors, and stakeholders
  • Serve as virtual office manager for Citizen team, ordering equipment and supplies as needed and ensuring that Citizen team members have what they need to succeed
  • Develop templates, processes, and systems that help Citizen operate efficiently and effectively
  • Set and oversee Citizen’s operations budget, with support from COO and accounting team
  • Send and track invoices to partners and stakeholders, working in collaboration with with Partner Success
  • Support Citizen team broadly as needed on other needs including research, business development, and reporting

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 0-4 years professional experience, ideally in tech, social impact, public policy, or politics

Summer Data Analyst Intern (Research)
Position Overview

Citizen Data seeks a Summer Data Analyst Intern to assist in designing and analyzing original survey research. The Summer Data Analyst Intern will also work with the data team to develop internal and external-facing data analysis products. 

The ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in survey design and methodology, statistical modeling, and data visualization, along with proficiency in software tools used in quantitative social science research.

Citizen looks at data differently. Citizen seeks a Summer Data Analyst Intern with an innovative, entrepreneurial spirit who can be part of a team pushing the company forward and keep it on the cutting edge of data science and public policy and political research.

Role Objectives

  • Work with the data team to design and analyze original survey research
  • Work with the data team to use survey and voter data to develop novel insights and targeting models for Citizen’s partners
  • Develop a deep understanding of Citizen’s data and convey that understanding to others 
  • Produce static and dynamic data visualizations to communicate with a wide range of audiences ranging from the public to advocacy organizations to academics and technical experts
  • Learn essential tools of data management and analysis, including R, python, Tableau, and SQL

Job Requirements

  • Pursuing (or completed) a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a quantitative social science (e.g., economics, political science), or a related discipline
  • Experience in statistical analysis of observational and experimental data, particularly survey data, preferred 
  • Coursework and/or research experience in inferential statistics, preferred
  • Experience working with R and Qualtrics, preferred
  • Experience in survey design and programming, preferred
  • Interest in a career in public policy or non-partisan politics
  • A detail-oriented mindset
  • A problem solver with great data intuition
  • Ability to convey complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences (both written and verbal)
